About

Sukhendu Nandi has an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and moved to Germany to pursue his PhD in Organic and Bio-Organic Chemistry at the University of Wuppertal dealing with syntheses and NMR-based structural elucidation of complex biomolecules for cosmetics and food applications. Following his PhD, he did his first post-doctoral research at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, on quantum dots for the fabrication of fluorescence biosensors for intercellular ROS sensing and membrane imaging, and his second post-doctoral research at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, dealing with HPLC based method development for BH3 homology peptides and proteins. After serving over four years as an Inspire faculty at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, he has joined as an Assistant Professor at NIPER Mohali. His current research focuses on the following. 1) targeted and untargeted metabolomics of a drug substance, 2) Development of fluorescence-based biosensors for detection of impurities of a drug, 3) understanding of the complex lipid profile of neuron cells associated with Alzheimer's disease
