About

Dr. Arindam Mitra holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, and completed his postdoctoral research at Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. He is deeply committed to advancing microbiology, biotechnology, and allied healthcare sciences through teaching, research, and academic leadership.

With over 17 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Mitra has designed and delivered impactful instructional content, assessed academic performance through examinations and evaluations, and mentored students across diverse academic levels. He currently serves as Professor and Dean of the School of Allied and Healthcare Professions at RV University, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Previously, Dr. Mitra led the Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Microbiology at Adamas University, Kolkata, where he oversaw curriculum development, faculty management, and student mentoring for nearly a decade. He has also served as Senior Assistant Professor at SASTRA University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.

His research interests focus on microbial biofilms, vaccines, and infectious diseases. Dr. Mitra has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, academic books, and open educational resources. He has received support from the Microbiology Society, UK, to organize and host scientific workshops, seminars, conferences, and public engagement events.

Dr. Mitra actively contributes to the scientific community as an editor and reviewer for international journals such as PLOS ONE, Peer J Life and Environment, Canadian Journal of Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology and Frontiers in Microbiology. His overarching goal is to foster a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative academic environment, while continually enhancing the quality of education and research in higher education institutions.
