Dr Kedar Nath Dash is now serving as an Associate Professor and Head in the Department of Mathematics, National Institute of Technology Silchar Assam. He has joined this institute of national importance under central Govt. of India, since 2010. Dr Kedar Nath Dash (younger s/o: Shri Mangulu Charan Dash) was born in a small village namely ‘Chadhiya Palli’ under ‘Purushottampur block’. He did his schooling at N. D. High School, Purushottampur, Ganjam in 1990. He has completed his Intermediate from Tara Tarini College, Purushottam pur. After completion of his graduation and master’s degree he qualified all India GATE exam. Dr Dash has joined in the Ph.D program at IIT Roorkee with MHRD fellowship and defended his doctoral thesis successfully in the year 2008. During his Ph. D., he was the president of Mathematical Colloquium of the Department. Soon after completion of his Ph.D., he joined as Assistant Professor at Kalinaga Institute of Industrial Technology (now, KIIT University), Bhubaneswar. Till date, he has successfully guided 08 Ph. D. scholars and 04 are ongoing. Also, he has guided 15 M. Sc. thesis at NIT Silchar and 02 B.Tech. thesis from outside NIT Silchar. He has been awarded “Slovak National Scholarship, Slovakia”, in the year 2019 and in 2024 as well. Dr Dash has visited 14 foreign countries till now, including Las Vegas, USA (2007), Malaysia (2010), Dubai (2011), Liverpool Hope University, UK (2014), Singapore (2015), Thailand (2016), London (2019), Wales (2019), Amstradam, Netherlands (2019), Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Prague (2019) and Canbera, Australia (2023). He is the life member of ORSI, ISTE, OMS, Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM) and Member of IEEE. He is now the vice president of AAM. Dr Dash has around 100 research papers in the International Journals and conferences of repute with 964 google scholar citations till date; for his worldwide publications. Also he has reviewed more than 170 research articles. Dr Dash has 01 book and 05 book chapters to his credit. His area of research interest includes Hybrid systems of Evolutionary Optimization and their real life applications, Networking Optimization, Multi- and Many-objective Optimization, etc. To his credit, there is one project costs 33.71 Lakh under Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of lndia in the year 2021 and also one German patent in the year 2022. Dr Dash has delivered around 40 expert lectures / invited talks at different corners of India including IIT Roorkee; NIT Nagaland; South Asian University, New Delhi; IIIT Gwalior; VIT Velore; KIIT University, Bhubaneswar; Rajasthan Technical University; etc. He has organized 03 International Conferences, 07 workshops, 01 Short-term training program, 02-DST-inspired Science Camps and 01 self-finance course, 04 residential teachers training program. He is the guest editor of the Special Issues on the journal namely “International Journal of Swarm and Evolutionary Computation”, Elsevier (SCI, IF: 3.893) (2018) and Editor of ‘Springer Proceedings of Soft Computing for problem solving’, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019.
