About
Riya Dawn is an experimental condensed matter physicist specializing in correlated transition-metal oxides and functional quantum materials. She completed her PhD in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics at the Central University of South Bihar, India, in 2025 and is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Her research focuses on magnetism, functional metals and oxides, vanadium oxides, metal–insulator transitions, lattice distortions, electronic correlations and structure–property relationships. She has extensive experience in synchrotron-based XAS, XMCD, XAFS and resonant photoemission, complemented by XPS, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, microscopy, magnetic and transport measurements, and thin-film fabrication. Her research experience includes international synchrotron facility work at Photon Factory, KEK, Japan, and collaborations across India, Japan and Thailand.
