Geophysicist / Seismologist with expertise in the Disaster Management. Professional expertise in the field of 3-D Seismic tomography, Crustal/Mantle dynamics, Volcanology, earthquake shaking science tsunamis studies having a total of over 23 years of experience in the diverse field of geoscientific research. Graduated with Chemistry (Honours), Post graduated with Applied Geophysics from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India; obtained Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Seismology from Geodynamics Research Centre, Ehime University, Japan. Worked with different institutions of repute of the world at various capacities, such as Visiting Guest Professor at GRC, Matsuyama, Japan; HEAD, Geological Disaster Division of SAARC Disaster Management Centre, New Delhi; presently working with Geological Survey of India. Recipient of several accolades and awards among which National Mineral Award in the field of Applied Geosciencesunder Disaster Management categories, Members of several scientific bodies of India and abroad, such as IGU, AGU, SSJ, MGMI, IUGG, AOG, etc. Authors of several research papers, reports, concept notes and editors of several issues of Joiurnal of South Asia Disasters, Disaster News Bulletines and Annual Disaster Reports for SAARC Disaster Management Centre; and also guest editor for Special Issue of J. Indian Minerals.
