Dr Sankar K. Guchhait is a Synthetic Organic Medicinal Chemist, working as a Professor in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, India. He is an Associate Editor of the Royal Society of Chemistry Medicinal Chemistry journal from February, 2024. Research focuses majorly on anti-cancer drug discovery with design, focused synthesis, lead identification, and medicinal chemistry strategies. He has 28 + years of research experience and 17 + years of teaching experience in the field with PhD from IACS, India and postdoctoral research in three universities in USA for a total of 4 years. Research outcomes have been recognised with awards from various scientific societies. Creative strategy and innovation towards development of new therapeutic molecules is the key aim in research group.
