About
About Me
I am an aspiring archaeologist and historian specializing in Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archaeology, with particular emphasis on the Kashmir Valley and the north-western Himalayan region. I hold a Ph.D. in Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology and have interdisciplinary training in archaeology, history, folklore studies, museology, and scientific analytical methods.
Research Interests
My research focuses on Neolithic and Megalithic cultures of Kashmir, settlement archaeology, landscape and spatial analysis, and transitions in prehistoric cultural systems. I have a strong interest in archaeometry and scientific archaeology, including radiocarbon dating, ceramic petrography, FT-IR, ICP-MS, XRD, SEM-EDX, and emerging biomolecular approaches such as lipid residue and stable isotope analysis. I also work on ethnoarchaeology, cultural heritage studies, archaeo-heritage tourism, and the archaeology of forts and defensive architecture in the western Himalayas.
