About
My research centers on identifying and developing novel antimicrobial agents against resistant pathogens. In our lab, we characterized a furanone derivative with potent antifungal and immunomodulatory effects, showing its ability to rescue disseminated cryptococcosis in mouse models. This work highlights the compound’s dual action direct fungal inhibition and immune enhancement offering a promising therapeutic strategy for severe by Candida spp.. I am currently advancing this candidate through pharmacokinetic studies and nanoformulation development to pave the way for clinical translation.
Research Focus Areas:
1. Actinomycetes bioprospecting
2. Antifungals and resistance modulators discovery
3. Genomic surveillance
4. Biofilm inhibition strategies
5. Clean-room biocontamination control
