About

Prof. (Dr.) Rupa Mazumder has been working as a Professor and Dean at Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (Pharmacy Institute), Greater Noida, since October 2009. She has a total of 29 years of teaching and research experience. Prof. Mazumder had completed her graduation (B. Pharm), post-graduation (M. Pharm), and Ph.D. (Pharmacy) degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal. She has served various reputed academic organizations in her long tenure of professional career, like the Institute of Pharmacy and Technology (IPT), Salipur, Cuttack, Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi, School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPTM), NMiMS University, Mumbai, and finally, the NIET Pharmacy Institute, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Mazumder has received 8 grants from AICTE, New Delhi, and AKTU, Lucknow, with a total fund value of approximately. 43.0 lacs. She has filed 22 patents, out of which 13 have been granted, and 08 have been published. She has guided 25 Ph.D. scholars in the fields of Pharmaceutics, Anticancer Research, Microbiology, and Natural Products, in reputed Government Universities, like Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun, and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. Out of them, 10 have already been awarded their Ph.D. degrees, 01 has submitted his Ph.D. thesis, and 14 are pursuing. She has guided more than 200 postgraduate students, and several postgraduate students are still pursuing their research projects under her direct supervision.
Dr. Mazumder has a total of 280 national and international journal publications, most of which are SCI and SCOPUS-indexed. She also has approximately 108 national and international conference presentations, 03 full book authorships, and 11 contributions in book chapters to her credit. Her major research work is on formulations related to novel drug delivery systems with a view to the inclusion of new drug molecules obtained from natural sources and drug molecules and their derivatives synthesized chemically.
Prof. Mazumder is the founding member of the Jharkhand State Pharmacy Tribunal and is presently a life member of several professional bodies like the Indian Chemical Society, Bioinformatics Institute of India, Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), and Institute of Chemists.
Prof. Mazumder is associated with several reputed Universities as a UG/PG and Ph.D. thesis evaluator, like Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal, Dibrugarh University, Assam, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University (DPSRU), New Delhi, Jamia Hamdard, Hamdard Nagar, New Delhi, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, and others.
She has a wide range of interactions with the outer world in the form of Reviewer of many reputed journals, and Resource Person in conferences, FDPs, and Seminars organized by various reputed Institutes and Universities.
Prof. Mazumder has received several awards for her academic and research achievements from various professional bodies in her lifetime. She was the recipient of the following awards for her achievements in her long-term career:
• Certificate of Excellence for Best Ph.D. Supervisor Award, by NIET, Greater Noida, UP, in 2025.
• SPSR Excellence in Pharmaceutical Research Award, presented on the occasion of the 100th SPSR Webinar & Excellence Awards 2025, organized by the SPSR, in 2025.
• Crystal Awards (Business Awards) (2023-24) by the Beats of Dance Production House, at NIET, Greater Noida, UP, in 2024.
• Pioneer Scientist Award in the International Conference with the theme "Importance and Awareness of Traditional and Alternative Medicine” jointly organized by Skyline University, Kano, Nigeria, Africa, and SSPU, Bhilai, C.G., India in 2023.
• Certificate of Appreciation as Presenter of Concept Notes in Category 1 (Granted Patents) and Category 3 (Promising Research) in Pharma Anveshan 2023, organized by the PCI, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in 2023.
• ‘Star Performer of the Year – 2022 (Overall Performance)’, awarded by NIET, Greater Noida, UP, in 2022.
• ‘Best Teacher Award’ from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Teacher’s Day, on 5th September 2020.
• ‘Star Performer of the Year (Research & Development)’, awarded by NIET, Greater Noida, UP, in 2 consecutive years, 2019 and 2018.
• ‘Shikshyak Somman Samaroho Certificate’ awarded by Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in 2018.
She has received many more such performance-based awards throughout the entire tenure of her teaching and research career.
