R. Venkatesh Babu is a professor in the department of Computational and Data Sciences (CDS), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He held postdoctoral positions at NTNU, Norway and IRISA/INRIA, Rennes, France. Subsequently he worked as a research fellow at NTU, Singapore. He spent couple of years working in the industry before joining IISc in August 2010. His research interests span Computer Vision, Deep Learning and Robustness of Deep models and multimedia. He is a recipient of Satish Dhawan Young Engineer award, in 2019 and SERB STAR award in 2020. He served as area chair for CVPR'22, AAAI'22, WACV'22, ACML'22. He is a senior member of IEEE.
