About

I am a Doctoral student at the Department of Geology, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My research encompasses tephra, alluvial deposits and paleoclimate during the Quaternary period. I am dealing with the distal tephra of the YTT eruption, Indonesia, preserved in the alluvial deposits of India and Malaysia and am attempting to figure out what kind of vegetation and insect population existed in India prior to and after the eruption. I am also interested in the geochemical and geochronological fingerprinting of volcanic glass shards in order to associate distal tephra with the source area.
