About
Dr. S.K. Soni, a Professor of Microbiology at Panjab University in Chandigarh, India, has a unique blend of academic and industrial experience. With over 40 years of expertise in industrial biotechnology, he has formerly served as the Chairman of the Department of Microbiology, Secretary of the Faculty of Science, and Director of the Centre for Industry Institute Partnership Programme (CIIPP) at Panjab University. Additionally, he has formerly worked as a Nodal Officer of the IPR Cell at Panjab University. Dr. Soni obtained his M.Sc in Microbiology from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India, and his Ph.D from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India. Throughout his career, he has been associated with various fermentation industries and the Punjab Biotechnology Incubator, Mohali, India as a technical advisor. His research expertise includes Food and Industrial Microbiology, Fermentation Technology, Bioenergy, Waste Management. Dr. Soni has authored a book titled “Microbes: A Source of Energy for the 21st Century” and co-authored a book titled “University Manual of Intellectual Property Rights for Faculty, Technical Staff and Researchers”. He is also a guest editor of the special issue of Sustainability: “Sustainable Development of Enzyme System for Industrial Applications.
