About
I am a Plant Pathologist specializing in Plant Virology. I began my journey at UAS Dharwad with a Bachelor's degree, followed by a Master's degree at Punjab Agricultural University, and culminating in a doctoral degree from UAS, G.K.V.K Bangalore, I have consistently demonstrated a passion for advancing knowledge in plant pathology. With profound expertise in wet lab experiments, transcriptomic and metabolome analyses, next-generation sequencing data interpretation, and virome analysis, my research also extends to the fascinating realm of computational biology, particularly in the domain of computer-aided drug discovery.
I earned the prestigious “Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)” during their Master’s program (2016-2018) and later the “ICAR-Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)” for the Doctoral program (2018-2022). Notably,I have successfully qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB), ICAR, New Delhi. The culmination of their doctoral research was acknowledged with the esteemed Dr. Late Ramakrishna (Ex-Dean) UAS Memorial Gold Medal and certificate.
Currently serving as a dedicated scientist at CSIR-NEIST in Jorhat, Assam, I actively contribute to the field through my work at the Centre for Infectious Diseases. My focus lies in exploring the viral diversity of Northeast India, with a keen interest in virus-host-vector interactions, management strategies, and broader implications for the region.
