About

I teach undergraduate Physics at Ramjas College, University of Delhi — including mentoring students through their research dissertations under the new four-year NEP 2020 structure — while independently pursuing computational materials research driven by a long-term curiosity about how ions move through disordered media, and what that means for the next generation of batteries.
My work sits at the interface of condensed matter physics and materials chemistry. I use molecular dynamics and density functional theory to study how alkali cations coordinate and migrate through polymer and gel polymer electrolytes. My current focus is exchange multiplicity (N_ex), a descriptor I developed to distinguish polymer-derived from anion-derived coordination and quantify its role in ion transport selectivity — a framework I am extending from lithium- to sodium-ion systems.
Before moving to simulation, I worked experimentally on gel and ionogel electrolytes, characterizing them via impedance spectroscopy, FTIR, and thermal analysis. That hands-on grounding still shapes how I judge whether a simulation result is physically believable, not just numerically convenient.

I see this as a long-horizon problem, and I’m building toward it one careful study at a time.
