About

- Qualified CSIR-UGC-NET Life Sciences & GATE Biotechnology.

- DST-AWSAR (Department of Science & Technology-Augmenting Writing Skills for Articulating Research) Award for ''Top 100'' Best Popular Science Stories under PhD category (2019).

- Reviewer/scientific editor for European Journal of Medicinal Plants.

- Approximately 6 years experience in teaching Biotechnology to graduate and post-graduate students.

- More than 6 years of experience in plant tissue culture, viz., embryogenesis, regeneration, rooting, acclimatization, primary and secondary hardening under containment facility.

- Been Manager R&D, Commercial Plant Tissue Culture Facility, ICAR - Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow, India, which involved mass production of panama wilt resistant banana tissue culture plants employing an ICAR-patented FUSICONT technology (2019-20).

- Standardized and developed micropropagation protocols of various economically important horticultural crops such as guava, wilt resistant hybrid rootstock of guava, jamun, bael, litchi, mango, strawberry, lemon, lakoocha (medicinal plant) etc.

- Genetic transformation of horticultural crops such as papaya, guava, mango using Agrobacterium-mediated transformation system for various biotic stresses and their acclimatization under biosafe containment facility.

- Performed molecular diagnostic techniques during screening of transgenic plants viz., PCR, RT-PCR, dot blot hybridization, southern blot, ELISA etc.

- Well-versed with biosafety and commercialization of GM crops.

- Genetic transformation of guava using endochitinase gene for developing wilt resistant guava was done (2012-14).

- Held SRF (Senior Research Fellow) position in ICAR-NPTC Project for genetic transformation of papaya using hairpin loop of truncated coat protein gene for conferring resistance against papaya ring spot virus (PRSV). It is the first report of India in combating this deadly disease employing RNAi technology, which kills the pathogen (virus) irrespective of its serotype or homology. The technique encompasses use of marker free gene to abide by the GMO laws of India (2015-17).
