About
Alessandro Tavoni is Professor at the Economics department at Università di Bologna. Prior to that, he was Associate Professor at the London School of Economics’ Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. He investigates the drivers of cooperative behaviour in the global commons (such as coordinated investment in climate stabilisation). This is tackled through a combination of non-cooperative and evolutionary game theory models, as well as laboratory experiments, surveys and simulations, in an effort to shed light on the potential solutions to environmental dilemmas.
Alessandro is the PI of "GREEN TIPPING", a 5-year ERC Consolidator grant that investigates the effectiveness of "Social Tipping Interventions" to scale up climate cooperation using game theory as well as lab, online and field experiments.
