About
I am Preetam Bala, an educator, researcher, and science communicator with a deep passion for bioengineering and nanobiotechnology. As an Assistant Professor and Lab In-Charge of the Nanobiotechnology Lab, I have dedicated myself to blending hands-on research with engaging, student-centred learning.
My academic journey has been shaped by a strong belief that teaching is not just about transferring knowledge but about inspiring curiosity and nurturing critical thinking. I see the classroom and the laboratory as collaborative spaces where I learn as much from my students as they learn from me. This philosophy has helped me build meaningful connections and cultivate an environment of trust, openness, and shared growth.
Over the years, I have been involved in curriculum development, assessment design, and innovative approaches to pedagogy that bridge traditional principles and modern scientific thought. I find immense satisfaction in guiding students through complex concepts and watching them develop confidence in their abilities.
Outside my professional life, I am an avid traveller and music enthusiast, with a special love for places where history, architecture, and science come together in remarkable ways. Whether I am exploring new research ideas or discovering hidden corners of the world, I am driven by curiosity and a desire to keep learning.
