Her research expertise include biodegradation, bioremediation, microbiology, emerging pollutants, pharmaceutical micropollutants, xenobiotics, biochar, wastewater treatment, techno-economic analysis, circular economy, ecotoxicology, adsorption, soil restoration, environmental biotechnology.
Her current work is on Integrated bio-degradation and adsorption based approach for pharmaceutical pollutant treatment. She has experience as Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow for 3 years for SERB, India funded IMPRINT II project on "Integrated solar-photocatalytic and biological treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater". She has authored 19 research articles and published 7 book chapters.
She is the recipient of the International Travel Grant through ITS, SERB, India for attending "15th International Conference on the Challenges in Environmental Science and Engineering (CESE), UAE, November 2022". She secured first position for presenting her research at CESE 2022, UAE and ICBSEE 2018, NIT Rourkela along with other cash prizes. She had been awarded 1st position as best researcher in Chemical and Biological Sciences in the Research Scholars Week 2024, NIT Rourkela. She was also awarded for her paper at RAAEHS 2019, SOA. She qualified GATE 2016.
She currently serves as an invited peer reviewer for international journals like Chemosphere (Elsevier), Scientific Reports (Nature portfolio), Environmental Geochemistry and Health (Springer), World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology (Springer), Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology (Springer), Biodegradation (Springer), International Microbiology (Springer), Journal of Basic Microbiology (Wiley), Archives of Microbiology (Springer), Molecular Biology Reports (Springer), Discover Applied Sciences (Springer), Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery (Springer).
