About
Dr. V. K. Chandrasekar was born in Karur, Tamil Nadu, India. He obtained his B.Sc. in Physics from Government Arts College, Karur, in 1999, and his M.Sc. in Physics from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, in 2001. He qualified for the CSIR-NET and GATE examinations in 2002. He earned his Ph.D. in Nonlinear Dynamics from Bharathidasan University in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. M. Lakshmanan, following a Visiting Research Fellowship at Lancaster University, United Kingdom (2007–2008). He began his career as a Senior Scientist in a DST-funded project at Bharathidasan University and joined SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur, in 2014, where he is currently an Associate Professor in the Centre for Nonlinear Science & Engineering (CeNSE), School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. His research focuses on nonlinear dynamics, synchronization, multistability, adaptive coupling, spin-torque nano-oscillators (STNOs), and quantum coherence phenomena. He has published over 185 papers in leading international journals such as Physical Review Letters, Chaos, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Journal of Applied Physics, and co-authored the textbook Engineering Physics (McGraw Hill, 2022). He has completed eight funded projects supported by DST, INSA, and CSIR, supervised six Ph.D. scholars, and received several honors including the INSA Young Scientist Medal, Buti Foundation Award, G. D. Naidu Young Scientist Award, and SASTRA SAPHIRE Research Excellence Awards. He serves as an Editor for Scientific Reports and as an Editorial Board Member of Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience.
