About

Prof. Gupta is working at Department of Mechanical Engineering, NUS, Singapore. He did his Ph.D from University of California, Irvine, USA (1992), and postdoctoral research at University of Alberta, Canada. His core research areas are ‘Synthesis and Characterization of Advanced Light Materials’. To his credit are: (i) ‘Disintegrated Melt Deposition’ technique, a unique liquid-state processing method, and (ii) ‘Microwave Sintering’ technique, an energy efficient solid-state processing method, to synthesize Al and Mg light-metal alloys/micro/nano-composites.

His accomplishments include (i) 500 International publications (Citations: 16340+, H-index: 66), 135 International Conferences, (ii) 4 Patents, (iii) Authored 5 Books, 3 Book Chapters, Edited 3 Books, and (vi) Reviewer for 32 International Journals. He was also in the preliminary list of Highly Cited Researchers in Materials Science published by Thomson Reuters in 2012.
