About
Huang Huang, male, currently employed at Henan University of Technology, previously served as a researcher at the Department of Urban System Engineering and the Center for Disaster Prevention and Preservation Education at Ibaraki University in Japan. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Wuhan University of Technology in 2002, followed by a master's degree (2008: Development of Self-sensing Carbon Fiber Sensing Technology and Smart Anchor System) and a doctoral degree (2012: Structural Health Monitoring System Based on Carbon Fiber Sensing Technology) from Ibaraki University.
His professional background covers civil engineering, self-sensing technology, and smart structural health monitoring. He is a member of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE), director of the Photonic Sensing Society of Japan (PHOSC), member of the International Society for Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Structures (ISHMII), and editorial board member of the American Concrete Institute Structural Health Monitoring Committee (ACI Committee 444).
His research interests include the development and application of structural health monitoring and non-destructive testing technologies, focusing on self-sensing carbon fiber technology, smart optical fiber sensing technology, image-based crack detection, intelligent variable-frequency percussion testing, and damage identification and health assessment of structural systems such as bridges, tunnels, buildings, and slopes.
In terms of academic achievements, he has published over 10 SCI journal papers and applied for more than 10 invention patents. Additionally, he has contributed to the writing of one Chinese monograph, participated in the formulation of two industry and local standards, and served as a key participant in two projects funded by the Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
