Dr Suresh Kumar has completed M. Pharmacy (Pharmacognosy) from Panjab University, Chandigarh in the year 2001 and PhD from Panjab University, Chandigarh in the year 2006. Dr Suresh has worked as Scientist at NPRD division of Panacea Biotec Limited, Lalru. Dr Suresh is having 18 years of teaching and research experience. Presently he is working at Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr Suresh has guided 38 PG (M. Pharm.) Students and 05 Ph.D. students. He has published more than 80 research papers (H Index – 25) in national and international journals of repute and 1 book Herbal Drug Technology for B. Pharmacy 6th semester students as per Pharmacy Council of India syllabus. He has delivered more than 55 invited talks in different national and international conferences, and seminars. He has chaired more than 50 various technical sessions in different national and international conferences. He has organized more than 30 conferences, webinars and workshops being secretary of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (Punjab Chapter) and Nodal Incharge, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Campaign. Dr Suresh has successfully completed 03 major research projects funded by DST and UGC, New Delhi. Dr Suresh has been invited by Universal Research Foundation as Keynote speaker in Goa and Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He was core committee member of 69th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) held at Chitkara University, Rajpura. He is recipient of five prestigious awards such as Bharat Gaurav Puraskar by KTK Foundation, Eminent Pharmacognosy Scientist Award, Dr. P. D. Sethi Memorial Annual National Award 2020 (Best Research Paper on Application of TLC / HPTLC in Pharma, Herbal & Other Chemical Analysis by Anchrom Enterprises (I) Pvt. Ltd.), etc. He has research interest in plant drug standardization, phytochemistry, pharmacological studies on traditional plants especially CNS depressant, antidiabetic and antipsoriatic.
