About
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India. I am presently pursuing postdoctoral research under the Global Experience for Faculty Programme (GEFP), Institute of Eminence (IoE) Fellowship at the Department of Public Health and Genomics, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK. I completed my B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Statistics from BHU, where I was awarded a merit scholarship for academic excellence during my M.Sc.
Over the past decade, I have held academic positions at Pachhunga University College, Mizoram University, and the Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer. My research focuses on Classical and Bayesian inference, reliability theory, distribution theory, and their applications, and I have published around 60 research papers in reputed national and international journals. I have successfully completed two research projects funded by the Government of India, one IoE-funded project at BHU, and currently lead an ongoing project.
I have guided two Ph.D. scholars to completion and currently supervise three doctoral candidates, along with nearly 60 postgraduate dissertations. I actively contribute to the scholarly community as a reviewer for over 50 manuscripts, serve on editorial boards of reputed journals, and maintain life membership in professional societies such as the Indian Society for Probability and Statistics (ISPS), Indian Association for the Study of Population (IASP), and the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA).
Through my teaching, research, and professional service, I am committed to advancing statistical science and its applications to real-world problems.
