Dr.B.E.Kumara Swamy finished M.Sc in Industrial Chemistry from Kuvempu University with First Rank, Prof.M.R.Gajendraghad Gold Medal in 1997 and passed NET conducted by Govt of Karnataka in 1998. As a student in the project work published one paper in Asian Journal of Chemistry. Joined to Ph.D. programme in 1999 underwent Training programme at BARC, Mumbai on Electroanalytical Techniques, Young Scientist Award from ICC in 2000 and received Ph.D. Degree in 2002. Selected as National Science Foundation Fellowship as Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Sothern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, USA Feb 2003 – Jan 2006 and Research Associate in University of Virginia, USA from Feb 2006 to Dec 2006. One of the research work carried out at University of Virginia on nanotubes was highlighted in Chemical Technology.
Joined as Lecturer in Dec 18, 2006 to Department of Industrial Chemistry, Kuvempu University. Research areas are development of electrochemical sensor for some neurotransmitters, biosensors, nanosensors, and electrochemical sensors at different modified carbon paste electrode. Published more than 354 research papers in peer-reviewed journals with h-index is 51, i-10 index is 228 and the citations were 10258. Four Projects from DST, NRB and UGC New Delhi as Investigator and Co-Investigator. Guided 21 Ph.Ds, 03 M.Phils, 01 Post Doc, 04 members are working. Associate Editor in Science Letters Journal, World Research Journal of Analytical Chemistry, Academic Editor in Journal of Chemistry, and Advisory Board Member in Biopublications and worked as Guest Editor in Special Issue on Nanoparticle and Cancer Treatment.
Fellow of American Nanochemical Society, Life Member of Indian Society of Analytical Scientists, SAEST Member, and ICC Member. Worked as Assistant Director to Prasaranga 2011 to 2015, some popularized lectures are delivered at colleges and public auditoriums. One Indian Patent published Oct 21, 2022 and name was cited in the year 2021 and 2022 in US-based Stanford University top 2% of the most-cited scientists. Served Deputy Registrar, Development Section, Deputy Director in IQAC, Kuvempu University and worked in NAAC as the DVV External Expert and other important assignments in NAAC, Govt of India from Feb 2019. Presently the Chairman Dept of Industrial Chemistry, Kuvempu University and Special Officer to Vice Chancellor.
