About
I have completed Master of Arts and PhD from School of Economics, University of Hyderabad. My PhD work analyses the relationship between Agrarian Institutions (Production Structure, arrangements and Organisation) and agrarian growth among different states of India in the post-reform period. His research areas include New Institutional Economics, Agrarian Transition in Rural India, and Non-farm sector and labour market.
I started teaching after joining Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati Campus as an assistant professor in January, 2018 for an interdisciplinary programme BA in Social Sciences in Centre for Undergraduate Studies. I was trained in a disciplinary subject-economics in my BA, MA and PhD and teaching economics with an interdisciplinary perspective was challenging in the initial phase of teaching. But this training shaped my teaching philosophy and helped me to connect with the students in making them critically look at the theory and reality. I taught Principles of Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Theories of Economic Development, Classical Political Economy and Statistics for Social Sciences to the undergraduate students. I also teach Labour in Agriculture to the master students in Centre for Labour Studies and Social Protection in each odd semester. As I did my research in understanding the situation of agrarian economy in India, this paper helps me in reflecting my own research in the classroom. Currently I am teaching at Kalahandi University, Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, Odisha, India as an assistant professor in the department of Economics.
