Dr. Pooja Basnett is the Assistant Professor in Department of Mass Communication, Sikkim University. She received her Ph.D degree from Assam University and is recognized as the first person from Sikkim to do a Ph.D in Mass Communication. She has also received her M.Phil degree in Media Studies and MS in Communication degree from Christ University, Bangalore. Her main area of interest is Media & Communication Studies, Historical Research, Communication Research in Eastern Himalayas, Indigenous Studies & Communication, Rural Communication and Digital Media Studies.
