About
Rupesh Kumar Singh is a graduate of botany and chemistry, from the CSJM University Kanpur, India, in 2002. He received his M.Sc. degree in biotechnology from CSJM University Kanpur, India in 2004, and received his Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology “Thesis headline-Transcription profiling of low temperature responsive genes in Cicer microphyllum” in 2011, from Kumaun University, Nainital, India. He started working in Department of Biology, UMINHO, Braga, Portugal in 2013 (till 31 january 2016) to investigate bioactive compounds of Hypericum perforatum and corresponding genes involved in production and accumulation of these compounds in the plant. He joined Center of Chemistry of Vila Real, UTAD in July 2016 (till 30 march 2020) as postdoc fellow and present investigation interest is “elicitors mediated induced accumulation of phenolic compounds in Vitis vinifera grapes” and study of this mechanism (interaction between elicitors and V. vinifera) at transcriptomic, metabolomics and proteomic level. Rupesh Kumar Singh has been integrated member in Chemistry Centre of Vila-Real, Portugal, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. He worked as "Principal scientist (october 2020- december 2020) at Monaghan Biosciences, Monaghan, Ireland. Later he joined as researcher in Department of protection of specific crops, InnovPlantProtect, Elvas, Portugal and currently working in the same center.
