About

Shashank Bhushan Das obtained his B.E. (Electronics & Communication Engineering) from Anna University, Chennai, and M.Tech. (Nanoscience and Technology) from Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna. He is presently working as a PhD scholar at IIT Delhi in the department of electrical engineering under the supervision of Prof. Soutik Betal, and recently he has received India's most prestigious "Prime Minister's Research Fellowship" award (PMRF). He is an enthusiastic researcher and IEEE student member who is currently engaged in the simulation, fabrication, and characterization of wearable devices, nanogenerators, and magnetically driven nanorobots based on the magnetoelectric effect using core-shell nanomaterials and nanocomposites for potential biomedical, green hydrogen production, and energy harvesting applications.

His research combines cutting-edge nanomaterials technology to develop creative ways for monitoring and improving electronics, biomedical devices, healthcare, and energy harvesters. He observes the collaboration of these materials with various polymers to be a particularly exciting area of research, and he is particularly interested in the potential use of magnetic core-shell nanostructured materials such as NFO@BTO, CFO@BTO, CoFe₂O₄, BaTiO₃, BiFeO₃, NiFe₂O₄, and PVDF in the fabrication of advanced nanodevices. He aims to bridge the gap between these two disciplines and advance the capabilities of sensors, targeted medicine delivery, and energy harvesting technology. Along with his studies, he has a strong commitment to imparting his knowledge and experience to others.

He has also studied the structural, magnetic, and optical properties of crystalline ferrite nanomaterial in accordance with his prior research experience. He has provided significant research contributions in the fields of electronics and materials science by publishing in reputable SCI/WOS-indexed and conference proceedings journals.

He recently made a contribution to the groundbreaking 21st-century study on hydroelectric cells, which generate energy by dissociating water molecules at room temperature. Moreover, he has also acted as a reviewer for the Journal of Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism (Publisher: Springer Nature), Physica B: Condensed Matter (Publisher: Elsevier), Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology (Publisher: Springer Nature), Journal of Alloys and Compounds (Publisher: Elsevier), Results in Materials (Publisher: Elsevier), Journal of Inorganic and Organometallic Polymers and Materials (Publisher: Springer Nature), Journal of Scientific Reports (Publisher: Nature Portfolio), Journal of Hybrid Advances (Publisher Elsevier), Journal of Cluster Science (Publisher: Springer Nature), Journal of Surfaces and Interfaces (Elsevier) and Journal of Cluster Science, Springer Nature.

He has attended the Global Conference for Decarbonization of Energy and Materials (GCDEM-2024) by NTU Alumni, November 26th-30th, 2024, at NTU@One North, Singapore. He has also attended the E-MRS 2025 Fall Meeting at Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, from September 15th to 18th, 2025. He has also attended the PMRF Symposium 2026 hosted at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), coordinated by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), from 6th to 7th March 2026.

In order to build magnetoelectric nanorobots and nanogenerators, encourage creativity, and establish standardized procedures, he is an enthusiastic believer in the power of education. He also works hard to mentor and inspire the upcoming generation of students and researchers.
