Dr. Amit Srivastava did his B.E. from University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee), and M.E. & Ph.D from IISc, Bangalore. He has 12+ years of post PhD teaching and research experience, 4 years of industry experience after graduation, 1.5 years research experience after post graduation and 4 years of research experience during PhD. His area of research interest is Geotechnical Engineering and his PhD work was related to “Risk Analysis of Earth Dams under Static and Earthquake Loading conditions.
He has total 89 Google scholar cited International / National Journal publications in various refereed journals like ASCE, Canadian Geotechnical Journal, Engineering Geology, GeoRisk etc., including peer reviewed conference proceeding papers. Out of these publications, 45 documents are Scopus indexed. He has presented his work on various national/international platforms. He is also member of various national and international societies, such as, IGS, ISSMGE, and International Tsunami Society.
He has also bagged 3 awards (Prof. C.S. Desai Biennial Award – 2014; IGS-AFCONS Biennial Award – 2010; IGS-Smt. Indra Joshi Biennial Award – 2008) given by Indian Geotechnical Society and 1 international award from ASCE (EWRI Best Paper Award – 2015). In the year 2019, he was presented research appreciation award by the management of LPU during Teacher’s day event.
He has also contributed to various consultancy projects during his stay in IISc Bangalore, such as, stability of slopes using soil nailing technique, vibration isolation system using open trench technique, deep excavation problems. He is well versed in using numerical packages (useful in geotechnical profession) like FLAC 2D & 3D, PLAXIS 2D & 3D, AUTOCAD.
