About
I am Dr. Tarun Kumar Upadhyay, currently working as Associate Professor since 31st July 2024 at Department of Life Sciences, Parul Institute of Applied Sciences & Research and Development Cell of Parul University (NAAC A++), Vadodara. I have worked as Assistant Professor (Biotechnology) cum Scientist at Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat since 16th March 2021 to 30th July 2024. Prior to join Parul University he also worked as Assistant Professor (9th July 2018 to 10th March jointly at School of Applied sciences and School of Agriculture Research, Suresh Gyan Vihar University (NAAC ‘A+’ Grade), Mahal road, Jagatpura, Jaipur-302025-India and before that I was Assistant Professor at Dept. of Life Sciences, Institute of Applied Medicines and Research, Ghaziabad (affiliated to CCS University (NAAC A++), Meerut, U.P-India-201206). I have 4-year research experience in Govt. funded R&D project titled "Biochemical and Cellular Responses Within Macrophages Following Administration of β-Glucan Microparticles Containing Anti-TB Drugs". Apart from this, I have also 6 months industrial experience as a QC Chemist in the Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. Haridwar (Uttarakhand)-India. My Ph.D. research, entitled "Investigations on yeast cell wall derived β-glucan microparticles containing anti-TB drugs for the treatment of tuberculosis" under the supervision of Dr. Rolee Sharma, in collaboration with Pharmaceutics Division, CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow under the guidance of Dr. Amit Misra (Sr. Principal scientist & Head). I am well aware of analytical techniques for polymeric drug-formulation preparation and characterization intended for prolonged delivery of the therapeutics at the site of infection and undertook the animal cell culture-based assay independently for the screening of drug responses and toxicity within cells. Currently our team is working on different natural bioactive compounds derived from plants, yeast, mushroom, barley for cancer targeting.
