About

Postdoctoral Research Fellow | Organic & Medicinal Chemistry | Transition Metal Catalysis | N-Heterocycles
I am a dedicated research scientist with a strong foundation in organic chemistry and a passion for advancing molecular innovation. Born in West Bengal, India, I earned my B.Sc. (Hons.) from Bankura Christian College, University of Burdwan (2014), followed by an M.Sc. from IIT Kharagpur (2016). I completed my Ph.D. in October 2022 at IIT Guwahati under the mentorship of Prof. Bhisma K. Patel (https://bkpateliitg.wixsite.com/bkpatel), focusing on nitrile-triggered synthesis of N-heterocycles via thermal and photochemical pathways.
Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sungkyunkwan University (School of Pharmacy), working with Prof. In Su Kim (http://pharmasyn.dmax.kr/member/profile.php). My research centers on transition metal-catalyzed C–H bond activation for the synthesis of bioactive, nitrogen-containing polycyclic compounds.
I specialize in:
- Designing and executing complex organic syntheses
- Conducting mechanistic studies and structure–activity analyses
- Publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at international conferences
My goal is to contribute meaningful insights to the scientific community and develop novel methodologies that address real-world pharmaceutical and chemical challenges.
