About
Greetings! I am Aasif Ali, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of clinical experience, a distinguished Fellow of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and a devoted advocate for integrating empirical research with therapeutic practice. My professional journey reflects a deep commitment to understanding and alleviating the complexities of the human mind, further enriched by my clinical and scholarly contributions to advancing mindfulness-based interventions for individuals with Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder (OCD) comorbid with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).
Professional Background
My career is distinguished by a sustained focus on providing effective, evidence-based interventions for individuals and couples facing diverse psychological challenges. I offer structured and goal-directed psychotherapies and comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments, specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, interpersonal conflicts, couple distress, sexual and gender identity concerns, and personal growth issues.
Research Fellowship – Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)
My fellowship with the Indian Council of Social Science Research has significantly deepened my understanding of social science inquiry, enabling me to contribute empirically grounded insights to the field of Clinical Psychology. This prestigious recognition has strengthened my resolve to bridge the gap between academic research and clinical application.
Mindfulness-Based Intervention for OCD with Comorbid Depression
A major focus of my research involves developing and evaluating Mindfulness-Based Exposure and Response Prevention (MB-EX/RP) for individuals with OCD comorbid with Major Depressive Disorder. This pioneering work integrates mindfulness principles within the cognitive-behavioral framework, enhancing therapeutic outcomes through improved emotional regulation, reduced symptom severity, and increased psychological well-being.
Approach to Psychotherapy
My clinical practice is informed by my research, allowing me to integrate mindfulness-based insights with established evidence-based modalities. This approach fosters a compassionate, holistic, and empirically grounded therapeutic environment that supports both personal healing and long-term growth.
ORCID Research Platform
Through the ORCID research platform, I aim to share my evolving clinical and research insights, particularly in mindfulness-based interventions, while fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration within Clinical Psychology. My work seeks to unify the rigor of research with the empathy of practice—advancing psychological science while enriching therapeutic care.
