About

In pursuit of my doctoral research objectives, I employed a multidisciplinary approach that encompassed biochemistry, plant and food science, analytical chemistry, and pharmacology. This comprehensive approach enabled me to acquire specific knowledge about the role of plant bioactive compounds in human health, optimize the extraction of plant bioactives, conduct whole fruit metabolomics using UHPLC-QTOF-IMS, develop and optimize hydrogels/emulsions for controlled drug delivery, conduct in vitro cell culture studies, and investigate in vivo antioxidant pharmacokinetics.

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at VFIC, Texas A&M University, where I am developing pre/probiotic models and studying the behavior of gut microbes in the presence of plant bioactives. My research aims to unravel the mysteries of the gut microbiome, with the ultimate goal of preventing diseases by studying the biochemistry of microbes and their interactions with ingested nutrients.
