Dr. Amit Kumar Kashyap is an academic and legal scholar specialising in financial regulation, corporate governance, and emerging technology law, currently serving as Assistant Professor of Law and Head of Department of Law at the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad—a NAAC A+ accredited institution recognised as a Centre of Excellence in India. With over a decade of experience in legal academia, he has previously held appointments at Gujarat National Law University. He has engaged with premier institutions, including the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and industry organisations such as Kotak Mahindra Bank, reflecting a strong integration of academic scholarship with practical regulatory insight. He holds a PhD in Structured Finance Law, along with advanced qualifications in business law and finance, having completed his postgraduate studies at National Law University, Jodhpur, and professional credentials, including UGC–JRF qualification, Company Secretary (Executive), and a diploma in International Economic Law from the University of Barcelona. His teaching and research span corporate law, investment law, insolvency, financial markets regulation, and artificial intelligence governance, with a particular focus on the regulatory implications of digital finance and emerging technologies. Dr Kashyap has authored more than 10 books and over 35 scholarly publications and has contributed to international academic discourse through edited volumes and journal publications, alongside serving as Editor-in-Chief of a law journal and reviewer for international publications. He has led and contributed to policy-relevant research projects, including regulatory and investment frameworks developed for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in collaboration with governmental and professional stakeholders, and continues to engage in interdisciplinary research initiatives addressing contemporary challenges in financial systems and technology-driven governance. As a recognised PhD guide and active member of international academic associations, his work aligns with global priorities in digital transformation, financial inclusion, and regulatory innovation, contributing to the development of evidence-based legal frameworks for sustainable and resilient economic systems
