About

I passed my PhD in Poultry Science from UAF and currently. I have also passed my M. Sc. (Hons) in Animal Breeding & Genetics and M. Sc. (Hons) in Poultry Science from the same institute. Currently I am working as an Associate Professor at the Riphah International University, Riphah College of Veterinary Sciences (RCVetS), Riphah International University Lahore Pakistan with over 6 years’ post-PhD academic, extension, and research experience in the field of Poultry Science. I am multitasked, a quick learner, versatile, hardworking and can-do work 7 days till late at night. I have also worked as an Assistant Director of Graduate Studies, a member of the faculty Board, member graduate admission committee, and the Secretary Board of Study. I am serving as the founder/chairman of RCVetS Writing club as well as founder/chairman Poultry Science Club. I have published many research papers in national and international journals and also served as an editor and reviewer for some journals of national and international repute. I have actively participated in different conferences, Seminars, and workshops. I was actively involved to promote ostrich farming in the country. I am ambitious to conduct research for sustainable poultry production and would love to work with your esteemed organization. I have a strong wish to see my country being acknowledged in poultry science around the world. I am confident to add my experience and share the knowledge gained in the scientific field. I believe that my academic training and experience in research have prepared me well not only to contribute effectively for international research community but also to communicate or transform learned tools and experience among country people.
My core expertise is in the field of poultry production and my focused area of research is Poultry Science. Good genetic background and precise nutrition both are necessary for the efficient and sustainable animal production. Genetic variation amongst poultry birds is the basic primary tool to improve production performance. I am interested to improve the genetic potential of indigenous poultry stock to chase excels genetic pool to meet high protein demand independently. I am also interested in formulating poultry ration added with local herbs (alternative to antibiotics) to exploit, the immune response, physiology and production performance of poultry birds for healthy animal protein production. Heat stress is the major problem for poultry in Pakistan. One of the commendable attempts in solving this problem is my research work of Ph.D. at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad entitled “Effects of dietary inclusion of sodium-bicarbonate on production performance, blood profile and nutrient digestibility of caged layers during summer”. Harmful effects of heat stress on the performance of caged layers were successfully alleviated with the dietary inclusion of different levels of sodium bicarbonate. I am also interested to chase excels genetic pool against heat stress to meet high protein demand during summer. Sustainable use of energy is the demand of the time for economical production and for a healthy global environment. My concern is the planning of poultry farming involving genetics, nutritional and environmental sciences for sustainable and environmental healthy poultry production. I want to see my country being acknowledged as a major poultry producer in the world. In the value chain of poultry products, I am confident to add value, by expanding my experience and sharing the knowledge gained in poultry production. The poultry industry has great potential and is worth deriving maximum benefits for local consumption as well as for foreign exports. This is not an unattainable target, for I know, that every accomplishment begins with a clear vision of the future. We have the right ingredients to make our country independent and prosper in food production.
