About

I received his M.Sc. degree in chemistry from North Bengal University, India (2005). Originating from Darjeeling, a small town in the foothills of the Himalayas, I travelled to Grenoble, the city of Alps in France, to pursue Ph.D. course. During my Ph.D. research (2009-12) under the supervision of Dr. P. Reiss my focus was on the synthesis and bioapplications of NIR-emitting InP based QDs. After coming back to India I joined Sikkim University in 2012 as an assistant professor. I worked as a research fellow in National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India for two years (supervisor Dr. B. L. V. Prasad) and as a visiting researcher in Korea Institute of Machinery and materials (KIMM), South Korea for one year (supervisor Prof. Sohee Jeong). Currently at Sikkim University, my research focus is on colloidal synthesis, mechanisms of semiconductor nanocrystal formation, surface chemistry, properties, and application in bio-imaging, optoelectronics and catalysis.
