About
Muthaiah Shellaiah was born in India, received a Ph.D. in January 2013, and completed postdoctoral studies (5 months) under the supervision of Prof. Hong-Cheu Lin at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (ROC). From Sep 2014 to July 2023 (8 years and 11 months), he worked as a postdoctoral researcher on multiple projects in Prof. Kien Wen Sun’s laboratory at the Department of Applied Chemistry, National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (ROC). From Sep 2024- Feb 2026, he worked as a "Post-Doctoral Researcher in National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine", Taipei, Taiwan (ROC). Currently, he is occupied as an Associate Professor at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore, Karnataka -560111. He published more than 80 SCI research/review papers, of which 57 are in Q1 journals. He also serves on the topical advisory panel and currently serves as a co-guest editor for a special issue of the journal Chemosensors. Recently, He has been recognized as “Outstanding Reviewer (2023)” in The New Journal of Chemistry (an RSC publishing journal). He has also been recognized as a "Top 2% scientist" for the consecutive years of 2023, 2024, and 2025 by Elsevier and Stanford University. His research focuses on nanomaterials, chemosensors, supramolecular complexes, and organic/inorganic hybrid solar cells.
