About
I am presently working as Associate Professor in Department of Biotechnology, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), Bennett University, Greater Noida, India. I am an experienced multidisciplinary research Scientist with Post Graduation in Chemistry (specialization in Physical Chemistry) and PhD in Biotechnology. More than 10 years of research experience in infectious diseases with a special focus on signal transduction system, gene regulation, bacterial persistence and associated drug tolerance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). Development of anti-tubercular drugs and finding their mechanism of action. Domain Knowledge and interest in Nanotechnology & hydrogel based Nano-carriers for Vaccine and Drug Delivery system. More than 10 years of teaching experience for conducting laboratory sessions in Microbial Genetics, Chromatography, Molecular Biology and Recombinant DNA Technology for Post Graduate students of Masters in Biotechnology course at AIIMS, New Delhi. My diverse area of research experience including infectious diseases, mycobacteriology, nuclear medicine, hydrogel technology underpins my capability of managing multifunctional projects with productive outcomes.
Research Statement
Considering the paradigm shift in infectious disease research due to recent COVID-19 pandemic and upsurge in antimicrobial resistance in diverse pathogens, impacting not only human health but also risks to environment and global economy, it becomes imperative to develop efficient policies towards One Health. I am very much aspired to pursue basic and translational research towards addressing the challenges in 1) Infectious Diseases, 2) Antimicrobial resistance and drug tolerance in bacterial pathogens, 3) Devising novel molecular strategies to synergize drug/vaccine efficacy against persistent bacterial population.
My long term career goal is to establish myself as a faculty/scientist in interdisciplinary sciences working towards control and management of infectious diseases.
