About

Dr. Narayan Ch. Jana is a researcher in inorganic and coordination chemistry. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of transition metal complexes for applications in sustainable catalysis and molecular magnetism. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Jadavpur University in 2019. His doctoral research focused on the structural investigation of transition metal complexes for applications in molecular magnetism and redox catalysis. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the School of Chemical Sciences, National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. During his postdoctoral research, he developed environmentally friendly catalytic systems based on earth-abundant first-row transition metals for converting biomass-derived compounds into value-added chemicals. His research includes the synthesis and study of copper, manganese, cobalt, nickel, and lanthanide complexes with applications in molecular magnetism, bioinspired oxidation catalysis, and sustainable organic synthesis. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed research papers in leading international journals, including Angewandte Chemie, Coordination Chemistry Reviews, Green Chemistry, ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, Inorganic Chemistry, Crystal Growth and Design, Chemical Communications, Catalysis Science & Technology, Dalton Transactions, ACS Omega, and New Journal of Chemistry. He also serves as a reviewer for several international journals in inorganic and coordination chemistry and has extensive expertise in single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Dr. Jana is currently associated with the Central Research Facility (CRF), KIIT Deemed to be University, where he is continuing advanced materials characterization, instrumentation development, and multidisciplinary research. His current research interests include homo and heterometallic complexes for sustainable electrocatalysis, carbon dioxide utilization, biomass valorization, and and molecular magnetism.
