About

I Maneesh Dubey, throughout my academic journey, I have been deeply engaged in various philosophical inquiries in relation to social challenges that exists in contemporary society. While I was engaged as Assistant Professor at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, I have had the privilege of teaching courses on the sociology of education, educational technology, and research methods. Where I have explored integration of educational technologies and their influence on teaching and learning experiences among teachers and students, along with comprehensive research methodologies. The research experience of mine examines the importance of a sociological perspective of education, which helps an individual to understand social classifications and the constructions of caste, class, religion, and regional differences within the social system. These area of specialization have not only allowed me to impart knowledge but also to explore the foundational principles that underpin our educational systems and societal norms. Philosophy guides our understanding of the profound interconnectedness between knowledge, society, and technological advancement. In education, such Kant and Dewey philosophical perspective is particularly critical, as it offers a nuanced comprehension of how innovative educational technologies are integrated into higher education systems and their subsequent impact on societal structures.
My academic pursuits have been significantly shaped by my Ph.D. in Science Technology and Innovation Policy from the Centre for Studies in Science Technology and Innovation Policy. My research entitled, "Innovative Educational Technologies Adoption and Integration in Indian Higher Education," is an examined/explored how digital innovations permeate higher education, their integration processes, and the broader societal implications of this digitalization. Utilizing a rigorous survey-based methodology, this research integrates theories from the diffusion of
innovation(E.M.Rogers,GabrielTarde)andScience,Technology,andSociety(STS) (Thomas Kuhn, Karl Popper, David Bloor & Trevor Pinch and Wiebe Bijker) studies, providing deep insights into the educational dynamics across states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, and Gujarat. It examines the intricate relationships between education policy, technology dissemination, and social development, offering a comprehensive view of how educational innovations can shape societal progress.
However, my M.Phil. in Science Technology and Innovation Policy culminated in a thesis titled "Diffusion of Information Communication Technology in Higher Education: A Case Study of Ranchi District in Jharkhand." This research delved into the socio-economic contexts of educational technology, emphasizing the political considerations and societal impacts of educational innovations. It sought to understand how these innovations influence educational practices and contribute to societal awareness and individual rights. The central theme of my research is the exploration of the political economy of educational inputs and their influence on educational accessibility and awareness. By investigating how technological advancements impact educational practices, my work aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders.
My academic foundation is rooted in a Master's in Sociology from Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, where I specialized in Social Planning and Administration, Rural Sociology, Sociology of Health, and Contemporary Sociological Theory. This interdisciplinary approach underscored my commitment to social responsibility, particularly through the exploration of rural societies, tribal cultures, and livelihoods.
My commitment to knowledge dissemination is reflected in my numerous research publications in esteemed academic journals and presentations at prominent international and national forums, including the ASLERD conference in Rome, Italy. Through my research, I seek to contribute to shape the future of education and society by large in India. By examining the intricate relationships between technological advancements and educational practices, I aim to offer guidance that can help navigate the complexities of educational innovation, ensuring it catalyses socio-economic development and societal well-being.
