About
I am an Assistant Professor of Physics at Dr. Ambedkar Government Arts College in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. I have more than 22 years of experience teaching Physics to undergraduate and postgraduate students. My academic expertise and research interests are mainly in the field of spectroscopy. I focus on biophotonics, Two-Dimensional Fourier Transform Infrared (2D-FTIR) Spectroscopy, and biophysics.
My work also involves 2D-FT-Raman spectroscopy, 2D-UV spectroscopy, and Two-Dimensional X-ray Diffraction (2D-XRD) techniques. My current research explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning into spectroscopic analysis, with an emphasis on 2D-FTIR studies of diverse biological samples, including microbes, plants, food products, as well as clinical and environmental samples. The main goal of my work is to understand how biomolecules behave and respond by using Two-Dimensional spectroscopic techniques, which helps reveal more about their structure and function.
I have successfully supervised six M.Phil. and one Ph.D. scholar, contributing to the academic and professional growth of emerging researchers. I am actively seeking international research collaborations that apply spectroscopy in environmental science, biology, and food science, with a strong interest in interdisciplinary projects that advance the practical applications of spectroscopic techniques in real-world contexts.
