About
Vishal Gupta (SMIEEE) works as an assistant professor at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. He was associated with the “Italian National Research Council - Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (CNR-IMM)”, Unit of Agrate Brianza, Italy as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Previously, he was with the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy as a research associate, and with Laboratory TIMA (Techniques of Informatics and Microelectronics for Integrated Systems Architecture), Grenoble, France as a visiting researcher. He received his PhD degree in electronic engineering from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy in 2021, where he was also associated with the Defect and Fault Tolerance group. He received a Master of Technology in VLSI Design and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, India, in 2015 and 2012, respectively. He is the winner of a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship by CNR, Italy, and a Research Fellowship and International PhD Fellowship by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR), Italy. He is also the recipient of a Teaching Assistantship by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India and the “Young Scientist Fellowship Award” by the M.P. Council of Science & Technology (MPCST), Government of M.P., India. He has also published various articles in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed peer-reviewed journals and highly cited international conferences, including a “Best Paper Award” at the IEEE DTIS 2019 Conference, Mykonos, Greece. He served as a Guest Editor in the Special Issue of “Crystals” an MDPI Journal, a TPC member for highly cited conferences, and a reviewer for several journals and publication houses including Nature, IEEE, IOP, and Elsevier publisher. He is also a member of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), IEEE, ACM, and HiPEAC, as well as several other technical societies. His research interests include emerging memory devices, photovoltaic cells, device characterization and modelling, power-on-chip devices, RRAM, neuromorphic computing, memristor-based sensors, low-power circuit design, VLSI Design, manufacturing defects and process variation and fault, yield, and reliability modelling tolerance design.
