About
Dr. Najbul Hoque is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Acharya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, India. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Kalyani University and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, where his research focused on supramolecular receptor design and the selective recognition of anions and hydrated anions.
Following his doctoral research, Dr. Hoque pursued postdoctoral research at Sun Yat-sen University, China, and subsequently at the University of Rennes 1, France, and the University of Bern, Switzerland. His research during this period focused on molecular magnetism, coordination chemistry, and multifunctional molecular materials.
His current research interests encompass inorganic and coordination chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, solid-state chemistry, molecular magnetism, crystal engineering, and functional materials. He is particularly interested in the design and development of molecular and coordination-based materials for applications in sensing, catalysis, environmental remediation, and sustainable energy technologies. His research integrates molecular design, coordination chemistry, supramolecular interactions, and solid-state properties to develop functional materials with potential technological applications.
In addition to research, Dr. Hoque is actively involved in teaching chemistry and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, with an emphasis on connecting fundamental chemical concepts with emerging technologies and real-world applications.
