About

I am a power electronics engineer and researcher with a MS and PhD from IIT Madras (CGPA 9.06/10) and Post-Doctoral experience at the PEMSEC Lab, University of Houston. I currently serve as a Senior R&D Engineer. I have more than 7 years of experience in Power Electronics domain. My core research and industrial expertise are in grid-connected renewable energy systems, BESS, Solar, and Wind, with both Grid-Following (GFL) and Grid-Forming (GFM) control architectures. Solid State Transformer (SST) technology for medium-voltage grid and motor drive applications. I led the design, hardware development, and full control system implementation of a 3-stage 20kW CHB-based SST (1.65kV MVAC / 600V LVDC / 300V LVAC) in collaboration with an industry partner MR Germany. This is among the very few research groups globally to have built and validated MV-rated SST hardware. My publication record includes 5 first-author peer-reviewed IEEE journal papers and 6 IEEE conference papers. I also hold a filed Indian patent on MV grid-connected converter. Beyond SST, my expertise spans the full power electronics domain: grid-connected inverter control (GFL and GFM), motor drives (sensored and sensorless FOC), SiC and Si/IGBT device applications, EV charging systems, and simulation using PSCAD, MATLAB Simulink, and PLECS. Hardware implementation using CCS (DSP) and Quartus (FPGA).
