I am working in the field of geological (Petrography, Scanning Electron Microscopic Analysis, etc.) and geophysical methods (Magnetic, Self-Potential (SP), Electric Resistivity Tomography (ERT), Induced Polarisation, and Very Low-Frequency Electromagnetic method (VLF-EM)) for mineral investigation/mapping (especially Auriferous zones). I am listing my primary research interests below:
• Investigation of different gold mineralization zones using various geophysical methods in the Singhbhum craton, especially in and around the North Singhbhum Mobile Belt (NSMB).
• Detail geological mapping and geochemical analysis using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Electron Probe Microanalyzer Analysis (EPMA), and LA-ICP-MS studies to understand the nature, source of the hydrothermal fluids and precipitation mechanism of the gold mineralization within the North Singhbhum Mobile Belt (NSMB).
• Gravity and Magnetic data inversion, collected in Babaikundi-Birgaon Axis (BBA) (Babaikundi, Ichadih village) and Tamar Porapahar Shear Zone (TPSZ) (Lawa village) using different inversion algorithms.
• Joint inversion of VLF-EM and ERT data of Babaikundi, Ichadih, and Lawa.
• Forward modeling of Gravity and magnetic data.
• Gravity data survey in different locations (including Babaikundi, Ichadih, and Lawa) of the North Singhbhum Mobile Belt to understand the subsurface structure.
• Mapping of the area (NSMB) includes locations (Babaikundi, Ichadih, and Lawa) using remote sensing to unfold the regional crustal structures.
My doctoral research topic is "Integrated Geological and Geophysical Studies of the Auriferous zones in parts of North Singhbhum Mobile Belt, Jharkhand, India.” Ph.D. research focuses on two different shear zones, Babaikundi- Birgaon Axis (BBA) and Tamar Porapahar Shear Zone (TPSZ), covering parts of NSMB. Three different sites, Babaikundi, Ichadih, and Lawa, were considered. Babaikundi and Ichadih cover parts of BBA, while Lawa covers a part of TPSZ. The thesis has the following objectives that best describe the scientific problems:
• Delineation and mapping of possible auriferous zones in parts of the Babaikundi- Birgaon Axis (BBA).
• Delineation and mapping of possible auriferous zones in a part of Tamar Porapahar Shear Zone (TPSZ).
• Attempt to understand the correlation in geophysical characteristics between BBA and TPSZ.
