About
Dr. Nikhil Bharat is a Postdoctoral Researcher in AMADE Group, Physics at the Universitat de Girona, Spain. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Warangal, India, where he was honored with the Best Doctoral Thesis Award (2025).
Dr. Bharat’s research expertise lies in additive manufacturing, metal matrix composites, polymer composites, laser-assisted machining, material characterization, and soft computing techniques, including neural networks and machine learning. His work integrates experimental materials engineering with advanced computational modeling to optimize mechanical, tribological, and structural performance of advanced materials.
He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to patents and funded research projects. Currently, at the Universitat de Girona, he is involved in Spanish-funded projects supported by the Agencia per a la Competitivitat de l'Empresa and the Agencia Estatal de Investigación. His research focuses on advanced thermomechanical testing for liquid hydrogen storage and on understanding and tailoring residual stresses to enhance the performance and durability of high-performance composite materials.
Dr. Bharat serves as a reviewer for numerous high-impact journals across materials science, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering domains. His long-term research vision is to develop sustainable, high-performance materials and intelligent manufacturing strategies that bridge the gap between materials design, processing, and industrial application.
