About

Hyun Kim is a Principal Scientist in the Advanced Materials Division at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) and an Assistant Professor of Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering at the University of Science and Technology (UST).

He received his PhD from the University of Texas at Dallas, after earning his BS and MS degrees from Inha University. Following his undergraduate study, he worked as a Staff Engineer at SK Chemicals. Prior to joining KRICT, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Sensors and Electron Devices Directorate.

His research program, “Materials Innovation for Intelligent and Sustainable Technologies”, focuses on the design of stimuli-responsive and sustainable materials, the development of advanced processing strategies for multi-dimensional structures, and the integration of these smart systems into electronic, robotic, and biomedical platforms.
