About
Dr. Sourav Ghoshal is a computational chemist and researcher whose work lies at the intersection of computational catalysis, materials chemistry, and atmospheric chemistry. Over the years, he has developed a strong research profile through theoretical and computational investigations of catalytic processes, reaction mechanisms, molecular stability, and environmentally relevant chemical transformations. His research combines quantum chemical calculations, density functional theory (DFT), microkinetic modeling, and advanced electronic structure methods to address fundamental problems in catalysis, atmospheric processes, and sustainable chemical transformations.
Dr. Ghoshal has authored 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and 2 book chapters, contributing significantly to the understanding of catalytic and atmospheric chemical systems through first-principles computational approaches. His work spans heterogeneous catalysis, electrocatalysis, homogeneous catalysis, atmospheric reaction kinetics, photochemistry, and prebiotic chemistry. Through collaborations with both theoretical and experimental research groups in India and abroad, he has contributed to the rational design of catalysts and mechanistic understanding of complex chemical reactions relevant to energy conversion, environmental remediation, and sustainable chemistry.
