About
Dr. Karuppasamy Govindasamy is an accomplished researcher and academic in the field of Physical Education and Sports Science. He holds a Ph.D. in Training Methods in Physical Education and Sports Sciences from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu, India, and is UGC-NET and JRF qualified. He is currently serving as the Assistant Director, Department of Sports, Recreation and Wellness at Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Hyderabad Campus, Telangana, India. Dr. Govindasamy has a strong research focus in strength and conditioning, particularly in the effects of strength and balance training across different populations including children, adolescents, elite athletes, and seniors. He has published more than 101 research manuscripts, all of which are indexed in Scopus, ESCI, SCIE, and SSCI journals, with 317 citations, an h-index of 9, and an i10-index of 8. He has contributed several book chapters published by Springer and Elsevier, all indexed in Scopus. His outstanding work was recognized with the Dr. M. Robson Award for Innovative Research in Physical Education and Sports by the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI) in 2023. Dr. K. Govindasamy has collaborated with researchers from over 21 countries and serves as a Ph.D. external expert for various reputed universities. Additionally, he is an active peer reviewer for multiple renowned journals including those from Springer, Elsevier, BMC, SAGE, Frontiers, Wolters Kluwer, and MDPI.
