About

I have started my carrier as Assistant Professor of Botany since 2001. I possess over two decades of postgraduate teaching and research experience in environmental biotechnology and bionanotechnology. I have served as a reviewer for 123 international journals and acted as an associate editor for three international journals. Additionally, I have successfully completed three research projects funded by UGC. I have organized National conferences and webinars at my college and served as the convenor for a National Symposium on Algae in the food industry and Agriculture. My publications include five books, ten book chapters, 158 papers in both National and international journals, and one patent. I have presented 175 papers in National and International Symposia and actively participated in over 177 Seminars/Workshops. Besides, I have reviewed 276 papers as a reviewer for 123 international journals and acted as an associate editor for four international journals. I have guided 51 M.Phil students and 12 Ph.D. scholars, chaired national and international conferences, and received the Distinguished Scientist Award for my contributions in Environmental Biotechnology. Furthermore, I have received Best Paper awards for presentations at National & International Conferences. I am a member of 20 professional associations and served as the Chairperson of the Board of Studies in Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology at the University of Madras. I have been a resource person at various institutions, served as a NAAC steering committee member, and participated as a Heritage committee member. Additionally, I've been an Expert committee member for FIP for UGC and DST projects, reviewed research reports for the Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education, and served as an Expert committee member for the same council. I've also served as an N.S.S program officer and acted as a Junior College Council Member at Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai.
